Stroll with goat
A few years ago, Ms Rice wanted to launch a project called "Chatting with strangers". She invited some people she knew and some other total strangers, letting everyone say what they wanted. She thought it would just be some chitchatting but it turned out to be some touching moments sharing secrets/ memorable stories. At that time, she discovered that everyone had something to say, just a matter of he/she could find a suitable listener.
Also in those years, Ms Rice shared her heartbreaking broke-up story with many people. When she said it for the 100th time, it is no longer a sad and embarrassing story. She seems to become an outsider and be able to re-examine the experience that happened to her from different perspectives.
Whether listening or speaking, sharing or being shared, it can turn into something out of expectation. Among other participants who are strangers, there are not that much prejudice and subjectivity. Please feel free to join in group sharing or one-on-one sharing. Depending on the mood and the condition of the goat, we can sit and talk or stroll with the goat in the tribe.
Content of the activity
You are the speaker
Slip your mind about the daily identity, role and persona, there are always some secrets, thoughts or stories that you want to share.
I am the listener
I can be a tree hole and forget everything I have heard; or I can record it, write your story into an article as a memento.
Strolling with the goat
The goat can sit silently next to us as an audience, or lead us for a walk, accompanying us while chatting.
Refreshment
Thinking, speaking, and listening all require energy. Food and water are essential in this sense.
